San Francisco doesn't disappoint

The first plan of action today is dim sum. I am a wee bit hesitant about this because I only eat some types of fish and I feel like dim sum always has some sort of meat inside. And since I don't speak Chinese,I can't ask either. Lucky for me I am with a posse who knows the lingo.

Despite going to bed insanely early, I still stay downstairs til like 9am. I woke up at 4am a little chilly, but turned on the electric blanket and was A Ok again. The laundry room is really spacious and Tina makes my bed like any other so it is mighty comfy.

Roni makes me some eggs for breakfast because her cousin informs us it's a 45 minute drive to dim sum and we might have to wait to get in.

When we got there the parking lot was packed! There was already at least 30 people standing outside and Lord knows how many inside. We found 3 of Roni's cousins outside along with one of their girlfriends Angie. They are super nice and we start talking about the outdoorsy stuff we are into and earthquakes versus Nor'Easters. All the talk of mountain biking and climbing just puts a smile on my face.

We finally get a big round table for 8 plus the beauteous 2 year old Emma. I left it up to the table to do the ordering as I have no idea. Right away a cart come around which is some kind of fried crab and shrimp ball. It's fantastic! Next some chicken wing things and sesame balls which border on the dessert realm but are still real good.

The food comes and fills every single inch of the round turnstile in the middle of the table. Fried tofu, two types of shrimp dumplings, fried noodles, custard balls, mushroom noodles and vegetarian congee. And that was just the stuff I could eat! Hot tea flowed and we had to constantly consolidate because the food just kept coming. It was oh so good and believe it or not at the end we only had maybe 4 boxes of leftovers which the cousins split up.

Next stop was the Golden Gate Bridge.
We pull in on the Oakland side and Tina let's us jump out early so we can do our touristy thing.
It's a super clear day where the entire bridge is clearly visible as well as the city of San Fran.
After we take a gazillion pictures we head over towards the pier.
I wanted to grab a loaf of sourdough bread to go since I'm still do full from dim sum. We head to the Peet's coffee side of Boudin's and get right through the line rather than wait an hour on the opposite side.

We right away notice a haunted dungeon attraction right next to Madame Toussauds and we decide we must check this thing out. We see its live actors so we assume it will be a haunted house of sorts.

We head in and a very animated man that starts telling us the power of greed and corruption that has filled the streets of historic San Francisco for the last century. Room by room stories unfolded w a different actor in each segment. Some skits were funny and parts made you jump a bit. So without giving too much away, it proved to be a really fun way to spend a San Fran hour.

Next we head to the seals. Both Roni and I have childhood memories of seeing these lazy creatures barking up a storm.
Roni is barking like mad trying to get a rise out of some of her favorite new friends. Hilarity ensues for almost an hour.
We continue through Pier 39 keeping our eyes open to looking for a place to get some crabs. We see an awesome lit up Christmas tree with lots of funk music playing so we can't help but dance.
Although we were originally going to go to Aliotto's for some cioppino we opt for Joe's Crab Shack because well it's open at 10pm and we want an abundance of crab legs.
This almost feels like our spot since we hit this place up for the first time on a road trip we took to Nashville.
This time we have a posse though!

We eat and hang until 11:30 or so and I definitely fell asleep on the drive home.

It made for one of the best days of this whole trip so far. Although I might have said that every night!
