I <3 Hiking

For the first time in awhile my heart feels full. I am so content here being out and about in such a marvelous place. I have met wonderful people and things seem to be falling in place. The Columbia Gorge is my newest happy place and it doesn't even take me a half an hour to get there.

This Wednesday I went to Multnomah Falls, a 620 foot waterfall.
And the view from the top
This falls was easily the most touristy part of the gorge. There was a full gift shop, tourist info and restaurant. Not to mention garbages all around. I loved hiking past the top lookout point.
So much white water spilling over massive rocks
We followed Larch Mountain Trail at first.
Then we saw the sign of Devil's Rest
About a quarter of a mile up it started to smell like snow.
Then we realized we were on one of those snow capped mountains ourselves!
The icy descent down was far more difficult, but still awesome.
Believe it or not, the massive falls in the beginning was my least favorite part of the day.
