Lake Tahoe to Yosemite

We woke up at dawn to see the sun rise over Lake Tahoe

We were high up in elevation so never actually saw the sun, just all the colors over the lake.  Our next sleep was going to be at Yosemite.  The stop below is at Mono Lake Historic Viewpoint.

These next pictures are from our first Yosemite hike; Gaylor Lakes.  We hiked up 600 feet when we were already at 10,000feet elevation.  Needless to say, this one kicked our butts, but the payoff was beautiful and we even got a little rain.

This was probably the sunniest portion of Yosemite for us.  At our next hike the winds changed directions and covered the air with smoke from a wildfire southwest of us

This is Lembert Dome

I hiked way up it and then freaked out a little about climbing back down.

We hiked towards Dog Lake, but didn't go all the way.

The other side of Lembert Dome

Olmsted Point

Lukens Lake

We started chasing the most amazing sunset

Like I literally drove a half mile to this point to get this shot

We ventured into the Merced Grove of Giants

And there is El Capitan

Then we jump to the Redwood Forest in California

Then into Oregon!  This is Harris Beach

Cape Sebastian, OR

Port Orford, OR

Then into Yachats

I finally found Thor's Well

The best shot

Quick stop at Seal Rock

Then home....
