Just logged on here for the first time to realize my last post was a month ago??!! Really??!!
Well the other girl at the taco shop quit so I have picked up a bunch of hours in an effort to fund some adventures to come. I'm going to have a 5 or six days off through Fourth of July so Alex and I are talking of doing an epic surf trip while driving down the coast of Oregon and into California. I'm dying to see the Redwood Forest again and just the coast for miles upon miles.
Alex currently has an acre of land we have been farming out on Sauvie Island. This week I have helped to transplant and weed and upkeep the space whenever I wanted and there is so much still to do. I'm learning how to farm a big space for the first time and although rewarding to see things bloom, weeds are out of control!!! I kill life to create the lives of the plants that I want. Weird.
Any who, my hops are doing great. Bushy and green they are starting to grow more and more. I just can't wait to have an abundance of fresh vegetables. I feel like I spend the most money at the grocery store. Mainly because there is so much great organic delicious food here.
My back is currently a little burnt from weeding the other day but I'm happy to report I am super tan and have hit the beach regularly, this first month of summer like weather. Not to mention Willow Bar which is 15 minutes away from Alex's.
Summer began 2 days ago (officially that is) and I celebrated first on Saturday at Jenny Love's bonfire party and again on the full moon night on the 20th, also with a bonfire and story telling and singing. I'm hoping to work a lot less next week and start some random adventure days, like I was doing for the past 5 months, which should be pretty easy :)
I actually have zero plans thus far for July (after the 4th that is) so I'm pretty excited to see where I land.
